Don’t worry if you’re a vegan foodie, Trondheim won’t leave you in the dust! Below is a list of some great vegan options ranging from healthy green takeout to a 20 course affair. And even if you can’t find vegan options on a menu, many of Trondheim’s eateries are happy to cater to your dietary preferences if you let them know in advance.

The new vegan kid in town! Stop by for breakfast or lunch, get a wrap or pizza to go, or enjoy a fresh cup of organic coffee and a sweet treat. If you have a sweet tooth try the delicious carrot cake, or chilli chocolate cake. Yum!

A special occasion? Bula offers a 5 or 10 course vegan menu on request. The vegan menu is prepared with the same love and care as their regular menus, but you will have to give at least two days notice, as extra preparations need to be taken. In their “secret room” they can also offer a 20 course vegan meal on request.
Bakeries and Coffee Shops
A local favourite, known for their tasty sourdough breads made of local ancient grains – and the best part, they are all vegan.kt på lokale urkorn – og det beste av alt: de er alle veganske!
Customise your own sandwich or try one of the tasty vegan buns. And yes, all their bread is vegan as well. Several locations throughout the city centre.
How about a soy or oat milk latte, tea, a smoothie or any of the other hot and cold drinks on offer? Accompanied with tasty vegan sandwiches or a hazelnut scone.
Restaurants with Vegan Options
Traditional Thai cuisine in Trondheim city center. Try the vegan Som Tam, Pad Wunsen, the spring rolls or the vegan “shrimp” chips. And if you’d like, anything from the extensive vegetarian menu can easily be veganised on request.
Bror has two vegan burgers on the menu: Try ‘Sterk’ if you’re into spicy food, or ‘Bror’ if you’re more of a softy.
All burgers at Døgnvill can be made vegan by substituting the beef with Beyond Meat . “The Vegan Viking” and “Not Today, Dagros” are made from special vegan recipes (the latter is vegan when you change the bun). Fries with vegan aioli and vegan milkshakes completes the experience.
As genuine Italian pizzas go, you can’t do much better than Grano. Enjoy the ‘Vegana’ pizza or the vegan panini. Or ask the chefs to veganise any of the other pizzas on the menu, should they strike your fancy.
Try the “Living on the veg” pizza with vegan kebab meat (seitan). The soup of the week is also often vegan.
At Lager 11, several of the food stalls offer vegan food – check out ‘Mat fra Midtøsten’, ‘Atelier’ or ‘Sesam Stasjonen’.
Ni Muser has one of the nicest backyards in the city and a perfect location right next to Trondheim Art Museum and the Nidaros Cathedral. Try their delicious (and vegan) sweet potato soup!
At Olivia you get a great view of the river Nidelva while enjoying a delicious vegan pizza inspired by the Florentinian kitchen.
The popular sushi buffet at Sabrura offers vegan maki rolls, an Asian salad and spring rolls.
Choose between a range of vegan tapas dishes or get the vegan platter.

Will Veganise Orders Upon Request
Shiitake Miso Ramen can be turned vegan by not adding the egg.
All pizzas at Frati can be made vegan on request. They also have a salad and a pasta on the menu which can be made vegan.
Chana Masala or maybe a vegetable Biriyani? Let them know, and they will cater to your needs.
Veggie Burrito with chilli marinated sweet potato. Let them know you are vegan and they will skip the sour cream.
A local favourite with an ever changing menu based on seasonal ingredients and local produce. Any of their vegetarian dishes can be made vegan on request.
The “Jaca” and “Hongos” tacos from the menu can be made vegan. Alternatively dive into fried tortilla chips with jalapeño poppers, guacamole and pico de gallo.
Veggie burger or veggie salad? They will remove the aioli dressing and use vegan bread if you let them know.
