The Trondheim region comprises of the coast and the sea, the mountains and the rural area. It includes magnificent nature, relics of culture, traditions and food culture.

Some of the world’s finest produce comes from this region. Frosta is Trondheim’s kitchen garden and a paradise for growing vegetables. You can pick your own vegetables here or greet the wonderful farmers who are so passionate about what they do.

Meråker is a mountain municipality where the future world elite of cross-country skiing live and train at an upper secondary school with a specialist ski department. You can also climb mighty mountain peaks, visit the country’s largest outdoor climbing park and experience the Norwegian mountain culture.   

Stjørdal has a pleasant town centre with nice shops and restaurants. You can also go from farm to farm and experience everything from baking and exhibitions to salmon fishing, coffee and food. 

The Trondheim region consists of nine municipalities in and around Trondheim. This region is striving to assert itself as an international leader in research, education, business and culture.
