This beautiful park is nothing short of a local favourite with endless green patches to frolic in, and a great playground for children. On hot summer days, this large grass area is filled with locals – be it students, families or those enjoying their retirement. In between park games, BBQ and sunbathing, the music is playing from people’s portable speakers – making the average summer day feel like a festival to remember.
FINALEBANEN
The park that covers it all! This diverse park is not only full of fun opportunities but it’s HUGE. And it offers great fun for the whole family. Located in the Øya area, right next to St. Olavs Hospital, you find it close to the city center. During winter you can go ice skating here, where activities such as basketball and skateboarding offers alternatives in the summer. The youngest members of the flock might enjoy the slides and large swings, or perhaps a breather by the fountain in the green area. And if you are looking for a good work out, you will find an outdoor gym area here as well.
ILAPARKEN
This green lung you will find breathing to the west of the city center, in the neighbourhood of Ila. While the youngest children may indulge in the on-site playground, the park offers a football field too. There is also a zip-line here, waiting for those in longing for a tingle in their tummy. Or you can watch the small city birds having a drink, or perhaps a bath, in the park’s fountain. The park also offers public toilets which are both neat and clean.
