Beautiful and historic Stjørdal is 45 minutes from the city of Trondheim and just a stone’s throw from the Trondheim airport. This is also an incredible spot to taste the different flavours produced from farm to farm and get a feel for the quality of food coming out of the region.

The historical farm Ersgard, is a family-run business that has been in the same family for generations. Your visit to Stjørdal isn’t complete without a visit to charming coffee roastery Langøra Kaffebrenneri, or the famous small scale craft brewery, Stolt which are both located at the old farm museum Hjelseng Gård. Here you can test out Hjelseng’s fantastic kitchen based on local produce with local beers – or fresh brewed coffee.

Visit historical monuments such as Hegra Fortress or the stunning historical castle Steinvikholmen, floating in the fjord of Åsen. The Skarvan and Roltdalen National Parks are only a 30-minute drive away, so is the vibrant food capital of Norway, Trondheim. Go for a hike, walk in the surrounding nature, fish for salmon in the Stjørdal river or capture an insta moment at Hell station outside Gods expedition.
