Dog Friendly Travel
There is no need to leave the man’s best friend back home when the rest of the family goes on vacation. We have pulled together some helpful tips so you can enjoy a trip to Trondheim with the best company!
Several of the restaurants in Trondheim have dog-friendly outdoor seating and offer fresh water on request for your furry friend. At Ladekaia and Baklandet Skydsstasjon, there are designated indoor areas for dogs.

At Sverresborg Folk Museum, dogs are warmly welcomed.
Nothing makes the dog more happy than to go on a walk in the wild. Walking distance from the city.
Dog Leash Regulations
In Trondheim, there are all-year-round leash regulations, however, in some areas this may vary. It is required that you have your dog on a leash all-year-round in urban areas such as residential areas, shopping areas, parks, cemeteries, schools, kindergartens and sports facilities.
All dog owners have a responsibility, that is, the dog must always be under control both on the leash and otherwise. For example, the dog must be kept on a leash along ski trails, hiking trails and in large crowds of people. You must also make sure to always clean up after your dog with a poop bag and dispose of it in a trash bin.
Vaccines & Passports
Before traveling, it is important to check with your vet that the dog has all the necessary vaccinations. If you are visiting from outside Norway and are going to Norway with a dog, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the rules that apply to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
