Vassfjellet Vinterpark

Vassfjellet is located just 40 minutes South of Trondheim city center. If you don’t have access to a car, the ski bus can take you there from the city center. The resort has 12 slopes of various difficulty levels, from beginner to expert. Skis and snowboards can be rented and the café, Vassfjellkroa, offers a warm rest spot with snacks and refreshments.

Gråkallparken

This resort might not be the largest, but it is dearly beloved by the locals in Trondheim. The park is located at Gråkallen Mountain in Bymarka, only 20 minutes away by car or bus number 26 from the city center. Gråkallparken is the place to go for frolicking in the snow or hitting the rails and jumps. And Trondheim Skiklubb rents out snowboards for free at nearby Skistua. The park is suited for all ages and skill sets, from the novice to the professional, but some experience on a ski lift is advised.

Oppdal

Oppdal is one of Norway’s largest ski resorts and is located 2 hours from Trondheim. The resort spans across 4 mountains and consists of 35 slopes and 13 lifts. The main areas of Vangslia, Stølen, Hovden and Ådalen are all connected and offer fun parks, forest slopes, halfpipes, kid slopes and jumps. The resort rents out skis, snowboards and other equipment, and there is a ski school as well as several cafés and restaurants. From Trondheim you can get to Oppdal by car, bus, or train.


Åre (Sweden)

Åre in Sweden is a charming mountain town and resort knowns as a skier’s paradise due to its vastness. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours by car. With 46 ski lifts, 89 slopes and a large range of experiences and activities on offer, Åre is regarded as a world class ski resort. One of the more relaxing and beautiful ways to get there from Trondheim is by train. Rent a cabin or apartment in the town center or closer to the slopes, and if you are in need of equipment, rentals are available.
