Ladestien

A Sunday Walk

Ladestien is perhaps the most popular hiking trail in Trondheim and extends 8 km from Ladehammeren to Rotvollfjæra. The trip can be adapted in both length and terrain, and has perhaps become one of the city’s most popular areas of excursion. No matter if you are looking for a romantic stroll with your loved one, a workout session, a Sunday excursion with the kids – Ladestien is popular among everyone! Along this beautiful hiking trail you can experience fresh sea air, wildlife, old courtyards and historic churches. There are also many nice places along the trail that are great for sunbathing, playing and swimming. There are several bathing places along Ladestien which are very popular on fine weather days. Along the trail you can stop for lunch / dinner at Ladekaia or a snack in the cafe at Sponhuset.

Directions

The trail starts 3 km from the center of Trondheim. Take bus number 20 from Prinsens gate in the direction of Grilstad. Get off at Strandveikaia stop and turn left on Ormen Langes Vei. Follow the road along the water and stop at the Speaker Pipe before you get to where the Charging Path itself starts. You can also start the tour at the beach in Korsvika. Follow the shore line, the trail is well marked. From Rotvollfjæra you can again take bus number 20 back to the center.
