WHERE CITY MEETS NATURE
Ilabekken

The blue-green corridor
Ilabekken is a blue-green corridor that connects the city with “Bymarka” nature reserve. This tour can be done alone or as a beginning of a longer trip in Bymarka. The Ilabekken hiking trail starts close to the city center at Ilabekken park, goes up the Iladalen valley ending up at one of Trondheim’s most popular swimming lakes, Theisendammen. It is particularly idyllic in Møllebakken with the small waterfall and the beautiful wooden stairs.
While up at Theisendammen it is possible to extend the hike by walking the beautiful path that goes around the water. The path is approx. 1.8 km.
