A FOREST GETAWAY
Grønlia
Take your family or friends on one of Bymarka’s best forest hikes. When you arrive Grønlia, you’ll get a fantastic view over the Skjellbreia lake from above. Since 1925, the warming hut at Grønlia has been open to hikers, skiers, trailers and anyone else who is out in Bymarka in Trondheim. At this pleasant restaurant you can enjoy both sweet baking, light meals, cold and hot drinks. They have toilets available (see link below for more information).
Directions
By car you park at Lian Restaurant. If using public transport then the tram will be the best option. “Gråkallbanen” is the northernmost tram line in the world and is one of Trondheim’s tourist attractions. From the tram’s end stop, follow the signs up to Lian Restaurant where the hike starts. From here there is a marked path towards Grønlia. Some areas may be a bit poorly marked, but the trail is otherwise well worked up.
